Swan Project - Why am I Blogging

Thank you to all of you that have read my blog so far and for anyone reading now.  I wanted to let you know why I am doing this especially because I know there are so many good and established blogs out there.  I love being a mum, it feels like I was born to do it but having children makes time go by really quickly.  It's inconceivable during labour, in those early days with a newborn or in the middle of a tantrum that you can forget things but you do.  You forget things that you never thought you would;  the first time they slept through, funny things they said and the little bits of magic that make life with a child so amazing.

Whilst I try and write in their baby books as often as possible this doesn't always happen so I wanted to try and write about my life with them and try to capture the "magic moments" more.  Even if no-one reads my blog at least I will have this to show the children when they're older.  So my blog will mainly be about being a parent and life with a toddler and baby and the challenges we face, for example when I return to work next month (sob!). I am aiming to write an honest blog charting both the highs and lows of parenting because we're all to often bombarded with perfect images of perfect parents with their perfect families.  Where ever these images come from it can make you feel like you're the only one when you're having a hard day, trust me you're not.  I'm not aiming to be a perfect parent, why bother when perfect doesn't exist and it means you're only setting yourself up to fail.  But I am aiming to be the best parent and role model to my children that I can be.  I worry constantly about whether I'm doing the right thing or not, as I'm sure most parents do so I'm hoping for some sort of cathartic release from writing out some of my worries and hoping it might help me sleep a bit better!  My children sleep well so be nice if I could too!
I will also be trying to update you on my new years resolution of a new recipe a week, products for children and parents that I love and any days out we have.  Hopefully we'll all have some fun along the way.  And if my blog is being read by anyone other than me then thank you and you're welcome to leave me comment,s I'd love to hear from you!! And lastly thank you again for reading and any comments / sharing that you do.
